Planning & Design Director - High-Speed Rail | Canada

A leading International consultancy firm are searching for a Planning & Design Director to lead the strategic direction, design coordination, and delivery of a major high-speed rail initiative. This senior level role will oversee multidisciplinary design teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure alignment across partners to meet project milestones and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all design activities through the development phase.
• Ensure design outputs meet client expectations and contractual requirements.
• Drive strategic alignment across JV partners and manage interface with external stakeholders.
• Oversee risk management, design schedules, and quality assurance processes.
• Act as the principal point of contact for escalations and design-related decisions.

Requirements:

• Minimum 15 years of experience, with at least 10 years in design management for rail and transit projects.
• Proven experience in high-speed rail design is essential.
• Strong background in multidisciplinary station, rail, and systems design.
• P.Eng. or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience in alternative delivery models and large-scale infrastructure environments.

Location: Candidates based in Canada are preferred due to project requirements.
