Due to an increase in workload, our client, a multi-discipline engineering business, is now looking for an E&P Design Engineer to join their team in Liverpool. They are happy to offer flexible working arrangements but you will be required to attend the office 2/3 days a week. The purpose of the role is to lead design delivery to ensure compliance with legislation, Railway Group and Network Rail company standards.

This position is open to both permanent staff and contractors (Outside IR35). Candidates from the York area will also be considered as they have a second office there and Senior E&P Design Engineers will also be considered.

Principal responsibilities:

• Ensure a cost effective, high quality and safe approach to design works including feasibility, option selection, detailed design and entry into service.
• Key interface with clients on design issues.
• Ensure that work carried out is in accordance with Railway Group and Network Rail Company standards and Network Rail project control procedures.
• Monitor whether the design and construction elements meet the requirements of legislation, including construction design management (CDM) regulations.
• Ensure works are carried out within budget and to agreed timescales.

Key skills/experience required:

• Experience of Low Voltage Electrical Design in a Rail Environment
• BS 7671 Qualifications
• Engineering degree (or other qualifications with work place experience)
• Membership of a relevant professional institution.
• Knowledge of safety management and quality assurance
