Principal Instrumentation Engineer
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Principal Instrumentation Engineer to join a tier one contractor and work on an exciting project within the Defence Sector.

The main purpose of the Principal Instrumentation Engineer is to provide support to the Engineering Manager and/or external specialists during development, analysis, integration and verification of platform control and instrumentation systems.
Key responsibilities for this Principal Instrumentation Engineer:
- The Principal Engineer shall act as team lead, managing the day-to-day activities of the team and the production of deliverables.
- The Principal Engineer shall be responsible for developing and maintaining the competency and skills of the team, project plan and schedule project activities, while managing the resolution of any related issues.
Further information for this Principal Instrumentation Engineer role:
- Designing of electronic hardware
- Integrating software and hardware aspects of the final solution
- Production of evaluation/acceptance testing criteria
- Acceptance testing
- Through-life support (e.g., defect investigations, modifications & upgrades etc.)
- Producing and reviewing of technical documentation and reports
- Install, maintain, and repair in-service monitoring systems installed throughout the site
Experience required for this Principal Instrumentation Engineer role:
- Full lifecycle experience - This team does all their own design, build, testing, deployment, support
- PCB architecture
- Deep understanding of electronics
- Experience in programming embedded systems - FPGAs etc
Package offered for this Principal Instrumentation Engineer role:
- OUTSIDE IR35
- 6 months rolling contract
- Remote wokring with 2 days a month on site
