Requirements Engineer in London, National, United Kingdom

Are you a Requirements Engineer with an interest in working on international Rail projects? Do you have an interest in travel and working in the UK and overseas?

As part of a major growth initiative a non-corporate, cash rich and employee owned Engineering Consultancy is investing heavily in their rail systems engineering and delivery capability in the UK.

As part of a brand new team, you will help to shape and mould the Requirements management process, inclusive of systems allocation, requirements capture and deriving from stakeholders and project interfaces,

As a Requirements Engineer you will be responsible for providing Requirements capture and management within the Systems Engineering functions on current and future engineering projects. Projects will be varied and will cover Freight, Passenger main line, light rail and metro.

In the short to medium term, you will support market initiatives in Australasia. In the medium to long term, your capability will be deployed in the UK, where you’ll be supported by a global team working on projects in the UK and North America.

This is a hybrid position so you can work from home and the office. You will ideally be able to easily commute to either York or London as these will be the two ‘centres of excellence'. Other office locations are Guildford, Stockport, Leeds, Nottingham, Newcastle, and Ellesmere Port

What do you need to be successful?

  • A degree in a relevant discipline
  • Understanding of the System Engineering Lifecycle
  • Awareness of and ability to apply the INCOSE SEBoK Principles as appropriate for projects
  • Knowledge and experience in application of MBSE
  • Understanding and experience in application of Systems engineering tools such as DOORS© 9.6, DOORS© Next Generation and Comply Pro
  • Detailed understanding of requirements management processes
  • Demonstrable understanding of the Asset V-Lifecycle

Salary would be around 50,000 to 55,000, although there is some negotiation on this
