Due to recent contract wins one of our Rail/Civils clients are looking for a section Engineer in the Ipswich area on a long term contract basis
Job Description
- To lead and control a section of works, including specific packages associated with the Project
- Manage a team of Site Engineers within same discipline to satisfy customer/project requirements, objectives and constraints.
- Manage the engineering activities within a designated section of the project, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and specifications.
- Provide technical input and support to site teams, ensuring compliance with Network Rail standards, industry regulations, and health & safety requirements.
- Prepare, review, and implement method statements, risk assessments, and work package plans.
- Oversee and coordinate subcontractor activities, ensuring quality assurance and timely progress of works.
- Maintain and update site documentation, including as-built records, inspection and test plans (ITPs), 4 week look ahead programmes and site diaries.
- Liaise with the client, design teams, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and facilitate smooth project execution.
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, and actively promote a culture of safety on site.
- Support the Site Engineer team in surveying, setting out, and checking works as required.
- The role is for an experienced Section Engineer reporting directly to the Agent.
The following qualities/experience are desirable:
- Experience of working within rail/road possessions
- Experience of working in a wide range of multidisciplinary projects and environments (site mobilisation, roadworks, traffic management, utilities interface)
- Basic understanding of the standard forms of contracts, ideally the NEC suite
- Member of a professional management body i.e. ICE, APM
- Holds a current CSCS card
