Rail Structural Specialist (UG Stations) - Philippines

The market leading infrastructure recruitment specialist is seeking an experienced Structural Specialist for Underground Stations to join a leading consultancy firm on a major ongoing rail project in Manila.

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team on a major Metro Rail project in Manila. This role is with a leading international consultancy, acting on behalf of the end client, and will be instrumental in overseeing the design and construction planning of permanent structural works, primarily using Top-Down construction methods with diaphragm walls (D-walls).

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Review:
  Review the Detailed Engineering Design (DED) and Construction Plan provided by the client for all permanent structural works, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Bid Evaluation Support:
  Assist the client in evaluating contractor bids, with a focus on construction planning and methodology.
• Design Amendments:
  Identify and recommend necessary revisions or amendments based on contractors' temporary designs and work plans.
• Technical Clarifications:
  Address contractor queries and provide technical clarifications during the implementation phase.
• Interface Coordination:
  Manage and resolve interface issues between Structural, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), and Architectural disciplines.
• Preconstruction Works:
  Review the detailed design of utility diversion works and other preconstruction activities to ensure readiness for main works implementation.
• Project Implementation Support:
  Provide ongoing support to the Project Manager throughout the implementation stage, ensuring smooth coordination and technical oversight.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
• Minimum 10 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure or rail projects
• Proven expertise in Top-Down construction and D-wall methodology
• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary coordination (Structural, MEP, Architectural)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with international clients or consultancies is highly desirable

Language:

Fluency in English writing and communication

Salary Package:

The salary package is likely to be $8,000 to $10,000 per month tax free plus expatriate package
