Senior Contracts Administrator (Prime Contract)

EWI are supporting in their search for an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to manage the prime contract administration for a major rail infrastructure project in Alberta. This role requires strong expertise in contract management, stakeholder coordination, and risk mitigation to ensure the successful delivery of the project in compliance with contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and manage the prime contract, including contract interpretation, compliance monitoring, and documentation control.
Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related matters between the project team, subcontractors, clients, and suppliers.
Monitor contract performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard project objectives.
Prepare and review contract amendments, change orders, claims, and correspondence.
Collaborate with legal, commercial, and project management teams to resolve contractual issues promptly.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records and reports.
Support procurement activities, ensuring adherence to contract terms and conditions.
Provide guidance and training to junior contract administrators and project staff on contract processes.
Qualifications:
Minimum 7-10 years of contract administration experience, preferably in rail infrastructure or heavy civil construction projects.
Proven track record managing prime contracts in complex project environments.
Strong understanding of contract law, commercial terms, and industry-standard contract templates.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Law, or related field is preferred.
