Job Title:
Electrical Mate
Role Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Electrical Mate to assist with ongoing electrical works across TFL Underground stations in Zones 1, 2 & 3.
The successful candidate will support electricians and telecom engineers on night shifts, carrying out installation and cable support works under supervision. This role requires a minimum of 2 years' experience on similar rail or infrastructure projects and a valid CSCS card (or equivalent grading card).
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the installation of Cable Management Systems (CMS), including:
Trunking
Tray
Conduit
Support with the installation, termination, and testing of:
CAT6A and fibre optic cabling
Field antennas and associated telecoms equipment
Work effectively as part of a team under the supervision of the Site Person in Charge (SPC)
Ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and in line with project specifications
Maintain good housekeeping and follow site health & safety procedures
Shifts & Hours:
Nights: 23:45 - 04:45
Days: Sunday to Thursday
Start Date: ASAP
Weekend Work: Available at enhanced rates
Duration: Ongoing (until end of 2026; continued work subject to performance)
Mandatory Qualifications & Requirements:
CSCS Card or Grading Card
Sentinel ICI (Industry Common Induction)
DBS Check
Asbestos Awareness Certification
Face Fit Test (proof required or must be undertaken)
Preferred Additional Training:
First Aid
PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers' and Manufacturers' Association)
Location:
Work will take place at TFL Underground sites in Zones 1-3. Previous experience working in rail environments is essential.
