Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Estimator to join our client. The Estimator will play a crucial role in accurately assessing costs for construction projects, particularly in the rail infrastructure sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for rail infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive cost estimates.
• Utilize estimating software and tools to accurately quantify materials, labor, and equipment costs.
• Research and analyze historical data, subcontractor quotes, and market trends to ensure cost estimates are competitive and realistic.
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and proposals for client review and approval.
• Participate in bid reviews and meetings with clients to present and discuss cost estimates and proposals.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks and opportunities throughout the estimating process.
• Maintain accurate records of estimating activities, including cost databases, subcontractor quotes, and project documentation.
• Assist in the development and implementation of estimating best practices, processes, and procedures.
• Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in construction estimating, with a focus on rail infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, WinEst, or similar tools.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly present and explain cost estimates to stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices within the construction industry.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
