My Client, who are a leading global engineering and technology services company are now urgently looking for a P6/Project Planner to be based in York. This is a full time position on an initial 6 month contract with the view to that being extended.

The successful candidate will be based on site to support the planning of surveys during design phase and will be responsible to produce project wide dashboards and metrics in consultation with the Planning Manager and Project Planners.

Role responsibilities:

- Support the Planning Team to ensure logically linked, cost and resource loaded programmes are developed and monitored using Primavera P6.
- Actively pursues on-the-job development under the guidance of Senior Planner
- Able to plan individual learning and development around a busy working diary
- Liaise with Project Managers to assess tender programme requirements from technical, contractual and commercial documentation and ensure programmes align to internal/external requirements
- Able to produce excel dashboards representing critical information on project performance. Strong excel skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Collaborate with design, operational and estimating colleagues at all phases of the project lifecycle to ensure that programmes are developed and maintained to the highest of standards that will achieve the best possible business outcomes
- Support Project Managers by reviewing programmes to ensure they are realistic and robust
- Conduct site visits and engage with site teams to verify project progress
- Attend progress meetings as required, both internal and external, to report on progress and risk, and to provide programme support to the project team
- Responsible to keep accurate records and complete functional tasks on business information systems
- Promote planning best practice throughout all levels of the business at all opportunities and take part in business improvement and professional development activities
- Input into the development of team spirit and trustworthiness within project team
