Design Project Manager - Civil Engineer

Location: Sheffield

A Tier One Principal Contractor, operating throughout England and Wales, delivering multi-disciplinary buildings and civil engineering projects for Network Rail and other infrastructure clients
Has an exciting opportunity for an experienced civil Engineer to take on the role of Design Project Manager to support their multi-disciplinary portfolio of works in their Civils Asset Management contracts.

As a Design Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

- The coordination of permanent and temporary works design
- Working on framework contracts for Network Rail and other clients, projects will include a wide variety of design and build schemes including structures, earthworks and drainage disciplines.
- Working with our engineering team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of technical and engineering activities.
- Reviewing and approving design submissions, liaising with design consultants and our in-house delivery teams, and contributing to monthly meetings with our client's project team to progress design projects to a successful conclusion.

The Design Project Manager role will provide exposure to all kinds of engineering problems on the railway infrastructure, where you will play a key role in developing renewals and maintenance solutions for bridges, culverts, earthworks, platforms, station buildings and much more

To be successful in the Design Project Manager role you will be able to maintain and develop client relationships on the basis of mutual trust and high standards of project performance, promoting existing and new work opportunities.

Essential:

- Minimum HNC level education in an engineering or construction discipline.
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills essential
- Experience in a design or construction role or equivalent experience.

Desirable:

- Knowledge of railway standards and demonstrable experience delivering projects in a rail environment is an advantage
- Degree qualified candidates are encouraged.
- Preferably holding an EngTech or IEng qualification with the Institution of Civil Engineers or Structural Engineers or willing to work towards that status.
- Railway Safety Qualification - Personal Track Safety (PTS) is preferred but training can be provided.

Salary: Between £55,000 - £67,000 negotiable dependant on level of experience plus;
