This Tier 1 giant have an urgent requirement for an established Project Manager to join their Highways division and take heed on numerous packages across prestigious Highways projects in the Eastern region. The Opportunity:

This is a Senior post which will see you take responsibility for concurrently delivering multiple, large new build Highways schemes in the Eastern region for a major client. You will act as a leading figurehead on some of the most exciting Highway’s projects in the UK and can expect to take ownership of the delivery and quality of work whilst regularly liaising with Engineering teams to ensure the harmonious execution of works.

Most of these schemes are at early stages so this position will provide you with the satisfaction of taking projects full cycle and seeing them through until the end.

What is expected of you as Project Manager?

  • Communication is key in this position as you can expect to see yourself engaging with the Designers, stakeholders, Construction teams, Commercial teams, Supply Chain partners, Client, and all involved across the board to ensure works are executed at a subliminal level to Budget, Programme and Scope.
  • You will be acting as a key figurehead in this role, leading the way on all things Health & Safety whilst promoting the project and company through external awards, professional lectures, trade press articles and site visit.
  • You will be taking responsibility of the planning and preparation of the scheme’s delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage, monitor and review direct reports and team performances, providing encouragement and discipline as and when required.

Reward and renumeration:

This role comes with a fantastic basic salary circa £60,000 - £65,000 per annum, on top of your basic salary you can have the choice of a Grade 4 company car or a car allowance. Along with a 5% matched pension, 28 days holiday + bank holidays, health insurance, life assurance and two charity leave days. About You:

Due to the nature of the schemes, it is a given that you’ll have an impressive background working on large scale, new build civil engineering projects – Ideally valued above £40 million. It is essential that you’re a technically qualified, established Project Manager or Senior Project manager with experience in a main contractor environment working throughout the entire project lifecycle.

With this role being positioned in the Highways division, it would certainly be of benefit that you have a background in this industry, however, those with substantial experience on large projects in Civil engineering will also be considered. This could mean you’ve delivered major projects in either Highways, Rail, or Water.
