We are currently recruiting for a Rail Assistant Project Manager to take on the following duties:

• Ensure that all project documentation is completed in a timely manner and control the input from members of the project management team.
• The APM will be heavily involved in producing assurance documentation, reviewing submissions, chairing meetings, completing reports and taking minutes.
• Involved in all aspects of project management (risk, commercial, cost, planning etc)
• Manage the preparation of handover documentation
• The role is primarily office based however, there is the requirement to attend project sites as and when required (including attending site during engineering hours)
• Assist with change management within a projects environment
• Manager bespoke sub work packages on behalf of the Project Manager
  

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience expected of the Rail Assistant Project Manager will be as follows:

• Understanding of all Project Management Phases most importantly from feasibility through to benefits realisation
• Experience and understanding of setting up and running Stage Gates
• Experience of the design stages of a project
• Experience of the identification, analysis and management of a diverse range of stakeholders
• Understanding of LU processes and procedures
• Ability to conduct design reviews in conjunction with the Project Manager and Project Engineer
• Knowledge and experience of using the NEC 3 contract and Asite
• Ability to analyse complex data, draw conclusions and produce reports
• Ability to manage the full project lifecycle, from inception (supporting the sponsor), through design and delivery, to project close
• Hold a Professional Qualification in Project Management, e.g. PRINCE2, APMP etc, is desirable
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent, is desirable

This is a public sector contract and as such it will be set up on a PAYE or Umbrella basis. No limited companies or PSCs will be permitted.
