We are looking for a Lead Quantity Surveyor in York for a large rail company to administer Darlington Grip 4 (full time hours for LQS in tender for 12 month duration) support on TRU projects such as Holbeck, Copley, Leeds ECI, York ECI

You must have Rail experience essential, signalling experience desirable, worked under NR Forms of Contract desirable

The Lead Quantity Surveyor (LQS ) will be responsible for the overall construction phase commercial management of the contracts within the responsibility of the project team. He will provide professional guidance and assistance in commercial matters to other staff members within the project team, particularly to the Senior Quantity Surveyors. Responsibilities may include the following:

• Supervising the performance of the quantity surveying team to ensure quality and timeliness in delivery.

• Ensuring that each member of the quantity surveying team runs their section to the highest professional standards, that all information is current, and that every member of the team is receiving the information they need to fulfil their responsibilities.

• Review and sign off of estimates.

• Overseeing the maintenance of change management logs for the project.

• Reviewing and validating certification of contractor pay applications by consultants.

• Claim analysis and recommendation to the client

• Oversee the establishment and maintenance of a consistent and adequate administration procedures. These procedures will be followed across the project by the respective Quantity Surveyors working within the team.

• Analysing information, reporting and recommendations.

• Reviewing the commercial aspects of proposed contract changes.

• Contract Interpretation.

• Participating and providing direction to the project team, to achieve timely project deliverables.
