As the Principal Technical Officer, you will be responsible for directing the team of Senior Technical Officers and providing important technical support to the Maintenance Engineering Team.

The technical track teams provide support to the Delivery Unit Track Engineers. They are responsible for the surveying and technical record keeping of the tracks quality and design to ensure the lines run fluidly.

This is a varied and vital role, with responsibility for directing the work of the Senior Technical Officers. You'll be the first port of call for any issues that may arise, from instillations to faulting and overseeing a range of tasks, along with managing the survey and design work.

Essential

  • COSS trained
  • Stressing Level 1, 2 and 3
  • Experience of working in maintenance and/or renewals
  • Experience of managing a team- providing coaching and development
  • Previous track experience
  • To have the ability to work autonomously
  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence

The Role:

  • Directing a team of Senior Technical Officers
  • Taking the lead on everything from faulting to installation issues
  • Manage the preparation of work, resource specifications and requisitions for materials
  • Carry out technical inspections and investigations
  • Data analysis and quality control
  • Install, test and commission equipment
  • Personally, undertake and supervise a range of technical tasks, including survey and design work
  • Able to demonstrate, promote and embed safe working behaviours within the team
