What is the purpose of this role?

Working as part of the with the Civil Examinations regional planning team to ensure the delivery of an efficient and effective provision of track access and safety critical resource to support the delivery of the CEFA project. At all times aiming for the highest standards of safety.

What will this role involve?

The core work is provision of access arrangements and supporting resources for examination of rail civil engineering assets including bridges, retaining walls, and tunnels. The role will be a mixture of working from at home and in the office. The role may involve the following;

  • producing safeworks packs to Network Rail standards, booking line blockages
  • Build excellent relationships with the Client & Suppliers through the planning process.
  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure cost effective delivery.
  • Highlight and Co-ordinate ALO planning and management
  • Ensure all worksites linked to possessions are planned, booked and delivered within the correct timescales
  • Work and plan to Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/019 and the Rule Book
  • PTS competence
What are we looking for?

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Training:

  • Sentinel SSOW Planner competency
  • Working towards gaining (PPS, GZAC) planning skills
  • An expert in the Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/019 and the Rule Book
  • Experience in track access planning and safety-critical resourcing including preparation of Safe Work Packs
  • Computer literate and conversant with MS Office suite
  • PTS
  • Driving Licence – full, valid and clean
  • Eligible to work and reside in the UK

Desirable Competency

  • Ideally have experience in or hold Rail safety critical competence (PTS & SWP)

You will be part of a railway planning team with full national coverage. The team is responsible for consistently arranging track access to ensure the highest standards of safety for our teams on site examining civil engineering assets 365 days per year, facilitating safe operation of the railway. We have a strong culture of developing individuals to their full potential, providing ongoing training and development to maintain and develop skills.
