Your role, and what you’ll be doing:The Senior Design Engineer will own deliverables through specification development, development and deployment of SCADA and control system solutions, setting technical direction and continually refining engineering best practice.You will play a key role in shaping system architectures, functionality design and first-in-type solutions, driving reuse and where appropriate while also leading the creation of new, modular components where the solution demands it. Senior Design Engineer (SCADA)

Our client, a well know dynamic Tier 1 civil engineering company is seeking to employ a Senior Pre-Contracts Manager to be based from their South Yorkshire office taking responsibility for the Northern region (covering work in the rail sector, highways, environment agency, Aviation and others). Role Overview As the Senior Pre-Contracts Manager, you will report to the Regional Managing Director(s) and will be instrumental in managing multiple Pre-Construction portfolios across East and West regions. This role is essential in achieving the businesss work-winning objectives and involves strategic market analysis, bid management, and collaboration with senior management. Key Responsibilities Senior Management: Conduct market analysis to identify current opportunities, rates, and key personnel. Enhance and refine processes and procedures based on industry best practices. Regularly interact with regional Operations Directors, Managing Directors, and Commercial Managers to discuss potential and upcoming opportunities. Provide regular updates to senior management on Pre-Construction activities. Distribute key information from monthly reports to the Pre-Construction team. Proven experience managing frameworks and major bids, including commercial aspects and writing technical responses. Proven leadership skills with the potential to develop the pre-contract team, especially in junior roles. Strong commitment to proactive management of the pre-contract portfolio in the North (East &amp; West) regions. Willingness to be based primarily in Barnsley, with regular travel to Warrington. Senior Pre-Contracts Manager

We are currently seeking an Estimator/Senior Estimator to join our clients South Yorkshire office working as part of the Bid Winning Team.
As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in developing and pricing commercially viable, competitive &amp; cost-effective tenders to meet the identified client needs for a range of civil engineering projects including sectors such as rail, aviation, power &amp; utilities and Environment Agency projects in Northern region.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy and fast-paced work-winning team involved in multi-disciplinary civils projects across a variety of sectors.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Preparing and managing tenders from the receipt of documents through to delivery.
Work closely with the other functions in the department to develop and implement bid winning strategies from early in the tender process.
Presenting tenders at review meetings to senior management.
Liaising with the Supply Chain team on supplier/subcontractor inquiries.
Conducting technical and commercial appraisals of labour, plant, materials, and temporary works.
Performing take-offs from drawings and producing cost-effective tenders based on first principles.
Discuss and agree resourcing and works outputs with Planner, Bid Manager and delivery team working on the tender.
Analysing and pricing risks associated with tenders.
Preparing tender submission deliverables Assisting in the proposals and contract management functions.
Provide support, mentoring &amp; guidance to Assistant Estimators and anyone else within the department who may require such support, mentoring &amp; guidance
Essential Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have: Previous experience as an Estimator in a civil engineering infrastructure setting, particularly in multi-disciplinary projects and/or frameworks. Expertise in First Principles estimating. A solid background in Civil Engineering projects. Preferred Experience in a site-based or operational role prior to your estimating career is highly advantageous. Causeway software experience and knowledge is desirable.
