HS2, Britain’s new high-speed railway is at peak construction. Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2’s construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.

Current Opportunity: MEP Foreperson
Location: Based in Coventry - the South Region comprises Sublots 2B, 2A and 1A Long Itchington Wood. It stretches for approximately 39.2km from Finham Brook to Southam through a mixture of rural and suburban landscapes
Accountabilities:
- Supervise daily MEP construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. Coordinate site operatives, subcontractors, plant, materials, and equipment to achieve programme milestones.
- Ensure all activities comply with company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) requirements.
- Deliver daily briefings, toolbox talks, task briefings, and safety stand-downs as required.
- Monitor productivity, identify constraints, and implement solutions to maintain progress against programme.
- Support installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities for MEP systems.
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure works are executed in accordance with approved designs.
- Report progress, risks, issues, and resource requirements to the site management team.
- Ensure inspections, quality checks, and records are completed and maintained accurately.
- Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example in all aspects of site delivery.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience as a Foreperson, Supervisor, or Site Lead within MEP, building services, rail, utilities, or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and public health installation activities.
- Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work fronts within a live construction environment.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and work packages.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation and construction site best practice.
- CSCS Card and relevant trade or construction qualifications
