Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced MEP Section Manager to lead the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) works on one of Europe's largest infrastructure projects.
As MEP Section Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient and quality delivery of MEP works across designated sections of the project. You will provide leadership to engineering, commercial and delivery teams, ensuring works are planned, coordinated and executed in line with programme, budget and compliance requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant project while working within a collaborative and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of MEP packages throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Manage subcontractors and supply chain partners to ensure performance against programme, quality and cost targets.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards, driving a positive safety culture across all activities.
- Coordinate interfaces between MEP systems, civil works and other disciplines.
- Monitor progress and implement corrective actions where required to maintain programme objectives.
- Review and approve construction methodologies, risk assessments and work package plans.
- Support commercial teams with change management, forecasting and cost control.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, designers and delivery partners.
- Ensure quality assurance and technical compliance across all MEP installations.
- Lead and develop site teams, promoting collaborative working and continuous improvement.
Essential Experience:
- Significant experience delivering MEP works within major infrastructure, rail, tunnelling, utilities or large construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and public health systems.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
- Excellent understanding of construction health and safety legislation and CDM requirements.
- Strong programme management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to identify and mitigate project risks while driving operational performance.
- Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving abilities.
Essential Qualifications
HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
SMSTS.
CSCS Card.
Demonstrable experience managing complex MEP construction activities.
