Working hours: 8am – 5pm, Mon – Fri

Full time, Permanent

Job Purpose:

We’re looking for an experienced Sentinel Coordinator to take full ownership of our rail compliance

function for our growing Rail Division. Reporting to our Operations Director and our Compliance

Director, you will be supporting our Rail Operations Team and maintaining a compliant, “audit ready” Rail Division year-round, taking full responsibility for leading and passing our annual RISQS

audit whilst ensuring that our teams are able to meet client requirements to the high standards

expected.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the annual RISQS audit process, including maintaining our Rail Compliance Matrix and

an always up to date audit evidence library.

• Coordinate all Sentinel tasks, including Primary Sponsorship, Sub-Sponsorship (in/out) and

De-Sponsorship, ensuring pre-sponsorship checks and competence validity are in place.

• Maintain and reconcile our rail matrix, Sentinel dashboard, and sub-sponsor trackers,

completing monthly reconciliations against Fatigue360 and medical/D&A records.

• Maintain the Rail Training Matrix and competence tracking (profiles, expiries, gaps) and

provide compliance reporting packs to Rail/Compliance teams.

• Manage operative medical requirements, ensuring evidence is auditable and appropriately

controlled.

• Own D&A compliance evidence, including random unannounced testing and for-cause

workflows, supporting the 24/7 for-cause arrangement.

• Ensure all training is scheduled into Fatigue360 and monitor alongside planned hours so

hours/travel/rest rules are controlled.

• Update Fatigue360 with actual shift data (“actuals”) and ensure operational changes are

notified promptly, completing fatigue assessments/plans where required.

• Maintain rail equipment registers and support annual rail internal audit activity, plus NCR

logging/close-out support.

• Coordinate rail governance and communications including monthly rail review meetings, Rail

TBT annual programme, Network Rail safety bulletins, briefings and response logging, RISQS

portal monitoring and CIRAS membership.

Qualifications, experience and characteristics:

• Significant experience in a Sentinel Coordinator / Rail Compliance Coordinator / Rail

Compliance Manager role.

• Demonstrable experience leading or heavily supporting successful RISQS audits (inc.

planning, evidence, engagement, close-out).

• Strong working knowledge of Network Rail requirements, RISQS audit protocol and Sentinel

Scheme Rules.

• Highly organised, strong attention to detail, confident communicator, able to

challenge/escalate when compliance is at risk.
