<h2>Job Title: Project Planner - Substation Project</h2>Location: Suffolk Working Pattern: Site-based 3 days per week (hybrid) Sector: Power / Energy Infrastructure<h3>Role Overview</h3>We are seeking an experienced Project Planner to support the delivery of a major substation project in Suffolk. The role requires a highly capable, self-sufficient planner who can work independently on site, providing robust programme control, progress reporting, and planning assurance throughout the project lifecycle.<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Develop, maintain, and update fully logic-linked project programmes using Primavera P6</li><li>Manage and report Total Float, critical path, and programme risk to key stakeholders</li><li>Implement and maintain Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics, including performance analysis and forecasting</li><li>Support change control, impact assessments, and programme recovery activities</li><li>Provide planning input aligned to NEC contracts (including compensation events and programme submissions)</li><li>Interface closely with site teams, commercial, and project management to ensure accurate progress capture</li><li>Produce high-quality planning reports, dashboards, and narrative commentary</li><li>Challenge programme assumptions and provide proactive planning advice</li></ul><h3>Essential Skills &amp; Experience</h3><ul><li>Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6</li><li>Proven understanding of Total Float, critical path analysis, and schedule logic</li><li>Solid experience applying Earned Value Management (EVM) principles</li><li>Good working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)</li><li>Experience working on substation, power, or major infrastructure projects</li><li>Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and operate confidently on site</li><li>Strong stakeholder communication and reporting skills</li></ul><h3>Desirable Skills</h3><ul><li>Experience with progress measurement techniques and rules of credit</li><li>Knowledge of risk planning tools and schedule risk analysis</li><li>Background in power transmission, distribution, or energy infrastructure projects</li></ul><h3>Working Arrangement</h3><ul><li>3 days per week on site in Suffolk</li><li>Remaining days flexible / remote, subject to project requirements</li></ul>We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our company. Senior Planner

We are looking for a QS based out of Manchester (will be traveling around the UK on occasion).This is a contract role outside of IR35 and is long term
What are my responsibilities?
<ul>
<li>Commercial functions of various work packages. These may include Design, Signalling Installation, Test &amp; Commission, Materials, Telecoms, Electrification, Power, Plant, Professional Services, Civil Engineering and Permanent Way on the railway infrastructure.</li>
<li>Work with the project delivery team responsible for work package / project change control and management</li>
<li>Liaise with work package managers to collate information on the works</li>
<li>Work package cost management, including forecasting, budget management and control</li>
<li>Prepares internal and external commercial reports</li>
<li>Establish and maintain interfaces with key stakeholders. E.g. finance, project management, engineering, subcontractors, suppliers and Employers team.</li>
<li>Maintaining auditable records for responsible work packages in accordance with contractual requirements</li>
<li>Able to manage cost of both direct labour, material, plant and subcontract cost (essential)</li>
<li>Ability to estimate change / variations using various methods (essential)</li>
<li>Able to forecasts cost and measure cost of work complete (essential)</li>
<li>Good negotiation skills (essential)</li>
<li>Assists with the implement commercial strategies (essential)</li>

What do I need to qualify for the job?
<ul>
<li>Previous Quantity Surveyor / Contract Administrator experience working within a contractor side project environment (essential). Experience ideally gained in a similar or related contracting construction industry e.g. Rail, Engineering, Defence.</li>
<li>HND/Degree qualified or equivalent and or hold or working towards professional qualification, RICS, CICES (essential).</li>
<li>5 years experience.</li>
<li>Strong track record in a contractor side, project environment (essential)</li>
<li>Ability to work under own initiative and under cost or time critical conditions (essential)</li>
<li>Good contractual knowledge and understanding (essential)</li>
<li>Use of Microsoft Office and other software to present high standard of documentation</li>
