Civil Engineering Director - Metro Mega Project | Middle East

EWI Group is proud to be supporting a leading international consultancy firm in their search for a Civil Engineering Director to join a landmark metro infrastructure program in the Middle East.

This multi-billion euro initiative will transform urban mobility across a major metropolitan region, delivering over 150km of underground metro lines and more than 100 stations. The program is expected to serve millions of passengers daily and generate significant economic and environmental benefits for the region.

Role Overview:

As Civil Engineering Director, you will lead the engineering department of the consultancy's metro delivery team, overseeing a multidisciplinary group of experts in civil, structural, architectural, geotechnical, tunnelling, and construction engineering.

Reporting to the Project Director, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and coordinating the Consultant's Design Team across all disciplines
• Driving integration and collaboration between technical teams
• Advising the client on all engineering aspects of the program
• Managing the design development phase across three metro lines
• Reviewing technical deliverables and ensuring quality and compliance
• Overseeing a core engineering team and liaising with operations, systems, procurement, and project controls

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, or Transportation
• Minimum 20 years of experience in rail and mass transit design, including metro projects
• Proven leadership in managing engineering teams on large-scale infrastructure programs
• Experience in at least two metro projects during the design phase
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
