RAMS Safety Lead - Major Rail Project (KSA-Based)

A prestigious European consultancy is seeking an experienced RAMS Safety Lead to join their team on a major rail infrastructure project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This is a senior position ideal for professionals currently based in KSA or the GCC, with extensive expertise in Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) applied to high-speed rail (HSR), mainline, conventional, or freight rail projects. (Candidates with metro or LRT experience only will not be considered.)

Role Overview:

The RAMS Safety Lead will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies that enhance system reliability while ensuring the highest safety standards. You will conduct detailed RAMS analyses, collaborate across disciplines to embed safety protocols, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform in-depth RAMS analyses for complex rail systems, focusing on safety integration.

• Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to identify and mitigate safety risks.

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs within the RAMS framework.

• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.

• Lead risk assessments and develop effective mitigation and contingency plans.

• Drive a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement across the project.

• Deliver RAMS safety training programs to stakeholders at all levels.

• Monitor and analyse safety performance metrics and lead incident investigations.

• Facilitate cross-functional communication to ensure holistic safety management.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; advanced qualifications or certifications in RAMS or Safety Management preferred.

• Minimum 15 years post-graduate experience with at least 10 years in HSR, mainline, conventional, or freight rail projects.

• Proven expertise in RAMS principles, safety management, and regulatory compliance.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication abilities.

• Demonstrated leadership in managing safety within large-scale infrastructure projects.

• Ideally based in KSA or the GCC with familiarity of regional safety standards and operational environments.
