Location: Manchester (Hybrid – 3 days on-site, 2 days remote)

About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading client in the rail industry on a contract basis. This position will be based out of Manchester, operating in a hybrid model (3 days on site, 2 from home). This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile rail infrastructure projects with a multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will have a strong background delivering rail projects, particularly civil engineering works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary rail projects from initiation through to delivery.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and to budget.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including contractors and suppliers.
- Oversee all aspects of project planning, execution, and reporting.
- Manage project risks, issues, and changes effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Produce regular progress reports and attend client and site meetings as required.
- Support and enforce adherence to Network Rail and client-specific standards and procedures.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within the UK rail industry.
- Multidisciplinary background with demonstrable experience in OLE and civils.
- Strong understanding of rail infrastructure and project lifecycle processes.
- Experience working under Network Rail standards and procedures.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams and manage project delivery under pressure.
- PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification – desirable but not essential.
- Strong working knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
Additional Information:
- This role falls inside IR35 and will be engaged via an approved umbrella company.
- Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
- Travel to site in the Manchester area is required three days per week.
