Operations Director
Purpose of the Role
The Operations Director is responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of recruitment services across rail projects. This includes strategic oversight of the sales pipeline, operational delivery, RISQS-aligned safety and compliance protocols, and team leadership. The role supports business scalability while maintaining high standards of accountability and client satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities
Sales Pipeline & Client Strategy
Lead and structure the sales pipeline process to support revenue growth and client acquisition
Collaborate with leadership to forecast demand and align operational resources accordingly
Strengthen relationships with existing clients while supporting outreach into new accounts
Contribute to commercial planning and contract performance oversight
Operational Delivery
Manage fulfilment of recruitment projects across rail infrastructure with focus on efficiency, margin, and delivery quality
Maintain consistent delivery standards through performance monitoring and operational review sessions
Identify and implement process improvements that enhance service delivery and scalability
Safety & Compliance (RISQS-Focused)
Act as the accountable operational lead for all RISQS safety and compliance measures
Maintain adherence to rail industry legislation, including fatigue management, drug and alcohol policies, and site safety protocols
Ensure that internal teams and supply chain partners operate within full compliance of RISQS accreditation standards
Lead internal audits and readiness activities related to RISQS reviews
Team Leadership & Development
Mentor and develop operational teams to promote professional growth and service ownership
Lead weekly operational check-ins and contribute to strategic direction-setting alongside senior leadership
Ensure onboarding, training, and role documentation are consistent with compliance and company standards
Experience & Competencies Required
Strong operational leadership experience within rail or infrastructure recruitment
Working knowledge of RISQS and its associated protocols
Proven ability to drive sales performance and manage delivery teams across multiple projects
Commercial acumen and experience supporting contract growth and operational KPIs
